Getting started

From nothing to a working server in a few minutes.

1. Add Jewel to your server

Jewel is a public bot, so a member with the right to manage the server in Yapper can add her. If you cannot find where to add her yet, ask in the support server and we will help.

2. Give Jewel a role

Jewel needs a role with these permissions, placed above any role she should manage:

If a role is above Jewel's role, she cannot give it, take it away or change it. Most "I am not allowed to do that" messages come from this.

3. Log in

  1. Type /login in any channel Jewel can see. She sends you a 6-character code by DM.
  2. Open jewel.wtf/login and type the code.
  3. Jewel DMs you a second message with Accept and Deny buttons. Press Accept.

You stay logged in for 7 days. You can also type /dashboard to get a one-time link by DM instead.

Your DMs must be open to Jewel. If Yapper only allows messages from friends, Jewel cannot reach you. Change that in your Yapper privacy settings.

4. Choose your staff and a log channel

Open the General tab. Pick your staff roles (only the server owner can change this) and a log channel. Staff can then use moderation commands and open the dashboard.

5. Turn on what you want

Nothing is on until you switch it on. Each feature has its own tab: Tickets, Verification, Levels, Moderation, Honeypot and Community. Change what you like and press Save changes. Jewel applies it within a few seconds.

Show your server on jewel.wtf

Servers can choose to appear on the home page and on Discover. It is off by default.

  1. Open the Website tab of your dashboard.
  2. Switch on List this server on jewel.wtf.
  3. Paste your public invite link, like https://yapper.website/invite/yourname, so people can join.
  4. Save. Within a minute your server's name and member count show up.

Only the name, the member count and the invite link are published. If you turn on Public leaderboard in the Levels tab, your top 10 members also get a page.
